WHAT IS FIRST?

FIRST is a non-profit organization that inspires students from K-12 grade to pursue a career in STEM through programs that teach STEM concepts, communication, leadership, and engineering principles so students can learn how to innovate and develop team work skills.

FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

FIRST Robotic Competition is a competitive based program for high school students. Under strict time, rules, and resources, teams are challenged to build and program a robot that competes in alliances against teams from all around the world. The team is also challenged to create a team brand and operate as a business. They develop STEM skills, apply engineering principles, and learn business techniques.

FIRST TECHNICAL CHALLENGE

​FIRST Technical Challenge is a competitive STEM based program for students in 7th to 12th grade in teams with a maximum of 15 members. Students program a robot in Java to complete tasks during competition in alliances. They develop STEM skills, apply engineering principles, and learn how to work in teams.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE 

FIRST Lego League Challenge is a competitive STEM based program for students in 4th to 8th grade. Students receive missions they must solve using LEGO® robotics kits and compete against other teams. They learn programming, research, problem solving skills, and engineering concepts.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR.

FLL Discover- FIRST Lego League Discover is a STEM based program for Pre-K to 1st grade students that uses LEGO® DUPLO® bricks to inspire creativity.

 

FLL Explore- FIRST Lego League Explore is a STEM based program for 2nd to 4th grade students. They use LEGO® bricks and educational tools to help students learn basic coding and solve real-world engineering problems.
